Overall Strategy

The operational tools, examples of which include the central EGI Helpdesk, the regional dashboard, and monitoring infrastructure, are critical in allowing the staff involved in the operation of the production infrastructure to monitor and view its status, and report on its activity.

An Operations Product Team will be responsible for the maintenance and development work of each operations tool. Each Operations Product Team can be geographically distributed, with different NGIs contributing to the development of the work. Technical collaboration between the operations Product Teams and the NGIs will take place through the Operations Forum. The product teams are coordinated by and their long-term road map is determined through the Operational Tools Advisory Group.
