Objectives

To increase awareness about Romanian Grid activities and benefits among potential users
To encourage and facilitate the involvement of other interested and competent institutions nation wide
To support the development of the Romanian Grid integrated project as a consistent and coherent part of the European R&D activity in this field

Main results

Drafting the Strategy for Grid development in Romania (June 2003)
Participation in FP6 Projects EGEE and SEE-GRID as Joint Research Unit including five member organisations: ICI, UPB, NIPNE, INCAS and UB
Coordination of Grid research projects funded by the National Programmes CEEX, INFOSOC, RELANSIN, CNCSIS
Participation in the Working Group for the implementation of the National Grid Infrastructure.

Concertation meeting on Romanian participation in the European Grid Initiative

The meeting was organized on December 15, 2009, at the University of Bucharest, following the previous agreement reached between representatives of RoGrid and RoNGI initiatives, Prof.dr. Doina Banciu – General Director of the National Institute for R&D in Informatics (ICI) Bucharest and Dr. Nicolae Zamfir - General Director of the National Institute for Physics and Nuclear Engineering Magurele, respectively, with support provided by the Ministry of Communication and Information Society (MCSI) and the National Agency for Scientific Research (ANCS).
EGEE III Training event “Grid Days”, Campulung, December 14-15, 2009

According to the working plan of the EGEE III project, ICI Bucharest organized the training event “Grid Days” in Campulung, in the period December 14-15, 2009. The event was also supported by West University of Timisoara and University of Bucharest - members of the RoGrid JRU involved in the EGEE III project.
GridTalk upgrades European grid computing communications
